Feldman Gale Founding Partner Named Chair Of Florida Bar Intellectual Property Law Certification CommitteeMIAMI, FL - The intellectual property law firm of Feldman Gale is pleased to announce that firm co-founder James A. Gale has been named Chair of the Florida Bar’s inaugural committee for Intellectual Property Law Certification. He will serve a three-year term. The Intellectual Property Law Certification Committee will work to create a method for the Board Certification of intellectual property lawyers within the State of Florida. Florida is the first state that has created Board Certification for intellectual property attorneys. Board members are responsible for reviewing the credentials of candidates, developing policy to implement the standards of Board Certification issued by the Supreme Court of Florida, and drafting and administering the first exam to those attorneys eligible to seek Board Certification. Gale focuses his legal practice on matters particular to intellectual property law and the national medical device industry. He is past Chairman of the Intellectual Property Committee of the Florida Bar and is a member of the Executive Council of the Florida Bar. Gale has been voted as a Best Lawyer in America, named to the South Florida Legal Guide and has been consistently voted as a member of Florida Trend Magazine’s “Legal Elite.” In addition, Gale was recently named to the United States Lawyer Rankings 2006 List of the Nation’s Top 10 Intellectual Property Lawyers. He has served as outside general counsel while working in a national law firm, as well as serving directly as Vice President and Corporate Counsel of a major medical device manufacturer. While in private practice he has successfully represented companies in cases around the country involving patents, trademarks and copyrights, covenants not to compete and theft of trade secrets. Gale has an undergraduate degree in microbiology and cell science and a law degree from the University of Florida Levin College of Law, where he currently serves as a Faculty Advisor to UF’sCollege of Law Intellectual Property Certificate Program. He resides in Plantation, Florida. |
