WALTER C. FRANK, Ph.D., is a Registered Patent Attorney, licensed to practice law in Pennsylvania and Florida specializing in US and foreign patent prosecution and technical counseling.
Dr. Frank began his legal career as a Scientific Advisor for a large intellectual property law firm where he was responsible for drafting and prosecuting foreign and domestic patent applications. He later joined the firm as an Associate upon completion of J.D. at the James E. Beasley School of Law at Temple University in 2006. While at law school, Dr. Frank was awarded the Barrister's Award for Excellence in Trial Advocacy.
Dr. Frank has extensive industrial research experience both at the bench and in management positions. Named as principal inventor of 26 patents while he worked as a senior scientist and Team Leader in the flavor and fragrance industry, he knows a great deal about successful patent prosecution, giving him an edge in communicating with and drawing the most from today’s inventors and research managers alike. He has directed teams of Ph.D researchers and served as interim technical director at one of his former company’s overseas production facilities. This conception-to-production experience underscores his appreciation of patent value, the development of strong IP portfolios, and their translation to commercial success.
Dr. Frank received his Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from the University of Virginia, his Master’s Degree from the University of Delaware, and his B.S., cum laude, from Shepherd College.
